Community Guidelines
Last updated: Oct 16, 2025
These Community Guidelines explain what we expect from people who upload, share, or promote Dynamic Wallpapers and other content through the MuGen Wallpaper Service (the “Service”). They supplement our Terms and are designed to keep the community safe, creative, and welcoming.
1. Ownership and Licensing
- You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights in the content you create and upload.
- We encourage creators to open-source their work where appropriate. If you choose to make your work open-source, please state the license clearly (for example, include an SPDX identifier such as
MIT,Apache-2.0, orCC-BY-4.0) in the item description or metadata so other users understand how they may use the work. - When you upload content you should indicate any license or usage restrictions that apply. If you do not provide a license, other users should assume the content is not licensed for reuse beyond what the Service explicitly permits.
2. Promotion and Self-Promotion
- Creators are encouraged to promote their work and include links to portfolios, social profiles, or project pages in the item description.
- Companies and organizations may create content to promote themselves, their products, or their brands. However, promotional content is subject to the rules below.
- Company revenue rule: if your company’s annual revenue is less than USD 100,000, you may freely upload and promote your company, product, or brand within the Service. If your company’s annual revenue exceeds USD 100,000, please contact us before uploading promotional content that includes any company name, product name, brand name, or third-party brand references. Contact information is in the Contact section below.
3. Prohibited Content
Do not upload or otherwise make available content that:
- Infringes another person’s intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other proprietary rights) or uses third‑party trademarks without authorization.
- Contains pornographic or sexually explicit material, or nudity intended to be sexual in nature.
- Promotes violence, hate speech, or harassment against a protected class or an individual.
- Contains malware, viruses, trojans, or any code intended to damage, interfere with, or gain unauthorized access to another party’s systems or data.
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, or intended to facilitate illegal activity.
- Violates privacy or contains personally identifiable information of others without consent.
If your content may reasonably be considered borderline (for example, artwork that contains partial nudity for non-sexual, educational, or artistic purposes), include explanatory context in the description so moderators can make a fair assessment.
4. Trademark and Brand Use
- Unauthorized use of trademarks, trade names, brand marks, or logos is prohibited. Do not upload content that misuses another company’s brand to impersonate, confuse, or deceive users.
- If you own or represent a brand and want to upload promotional material, follow the Company revenue rule in Section 2 and ensure you have the rights to use any trademarks or third‑party marks included in the content.
5. Moderation and Enforcement
- We review content for compliance with these Guidelines and our Terms. We reserve the right to remove, hide, or restrict access to content that violates these Guidelines or the law.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts, block users, and delete associated content or data when we determine such action is necessary.
- We are not required to provide advance notice or a detailed explanation when we take enforcement action, though we may provide one when practicable.
- We also reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse to accept uploads from any user or organization, for any reason or no reason, and to deny access to the upload features without prior notice.
6. Reporting Violations
If you see content that you believe violates these Guidelines or the law, please use the app’s built-in report function to flag the item so our moderation team can review it. If the built-in report function is not available, please report the item via our contact page at Contact Us. When reporting, provide the item’s URL, a brief description of the issue, and any relevant evidence.
For alleged copyright infringement, please both:
- Use the app’s built-in report function to flag the specific item so our moderation team can immediately review it; and
- Submit a DMCA takedown notice through our Contact page at Contact Us.
When submitting a DMCA notice, please include:
- The URL or precise location of the allegedly infringing content on the Service.
- A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Your contact information (name, email, postal address, and telephone number) so we can follow up.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- An electronic or physical signature of the copyright owner or the person authorized to act on their behalf.
We may require additional information to process the notice and may forward the notice to the user who uploaded the content. See our Contact page for full instructions.
7. Encouraged Best Practices for Uploaders
- Include a clear title and description for each upload.
- State the license and any usage restrictions plainly in the description or metadata.
- Include preview images, notes on system requirements, and instructions to help users safely use Dynamic Wallpapers.
- Keep a personal backup of anything you upload — we may remove or lose access to content if the Service is changed or discontinued.
8. Contact
If you have questions, need to request permission for promotional uploads as required by Section 2, or want to report a violation and cannot use the in-app report feature, please contact us.
